How to use
- For the fullest color, apply straight from the bullet, starting at the center of the lip.
- For a stain, apply, blot once with a tissue and stop there.
- For a sharper edge, line first with the matching Precision Lip Liner; each liner lists its lipsticks.
- When the bullet is finished, twist the base out of the case and push a refill in until it clicks.
- Keep the cap on and the lipstick out of a hot car.
- Store below 30 °C, away from direct sunlight and out of a hot car
- Keep caps and compacts closed, and never share lip or eye products
- Replace mascara and liquid liners three months after opening, everything else within twelve months
- Patch test a new complexion or lip product on the inner wrist a day before first use

Asked about Velvet Verse Lipstick
How do I choose a shade I cannot try?
Every shade has its own photo of the bullet and a note on its undertone and depth, and the reviews name the shade each customer wears. Opened lipstick cannot be returned, so it is worth the extra minute.
What does refillable mean here?
Every Velvet Verse comes in its own metal case with a magnetic cap. When the bullet is finished, or you want another shade, a refill twists into the same case. A refill is $16 against $24 for a new lipstick.
How long does it wear?
About six hours, less with oily food. It is a comfortable soft matte, not a transfer-proof one; for that, look at the Stay-Lit Liquid Lip.
Does it have a scent?
Yes, a light vanilla. It is the one scented product in the Lips line besides the peach flavor of the lip oil.
Can I return it if the shade is wrong?
Not once it has been opened: an opened lip product is a hygiene matter and does not go back on a shelf. It can come back if it arrives damaged, defective or wrong, or if it causes a reaction. If it is only the shade, a refill in another shade is the least expensive fix.
Is the Signal Red in stock?
The full lipstick in Signal Red is sold out, and there is no confirmed restock date. The shade has a waitlist on this page. The Signal Red refill is in stock and fits any Velvet Verse case.
