How you earn
Lumens come from signed-in orders on this site, at 5 per dollar. They are counted on the product total after discounts, rounded down, and are added when the order ships; on a pre-order, they land when the pre-order ships. Shipping, tax, gift card purchases and the Lucerna Vault fee do not earn Lumens.
- Paying in installments or with a gift card earns the same Lumens: what counts is being signed in.
- An order with a discount code still earns, on the total after the discount.
- Auto-Replenish deliveries earn when each one ships.
- A purchase at a stockist does not earn Lumens, and neither does a past guest order.
- There is no reward for writing a review or for posting in the Lucerna Club. We would rather both stay unprompted.

Every 500 Lumens redeem for a $10 reward. Redeeming is done here, signed in: the Lumens are spent at once and turn into a discount code, which shows immediately and is listed in your history. The code goes in the Gift card or discount code field at checkout and counts as the order's one code, so one reward per order. Like every code, it does not apply to sale items or limited-edition launches. A redemption cannot be undone by you; if a code genuinely breaks, write to us and we will replace it for the same reward.

Your tier is set by the Lumens you have earned in the last 12 months. Free shipping and early access to launches are not tier perks: they belong to the Lucerna Vault, the paid membership.
The fine print, in plain words
- Sign in before you check out. Guest orders do not earn Lumens and cannot be added to an account afterward.
- A return moves Lumens both ways: the ones you redeemed on that order come back, and the ones you earned on it come off.
- Lumens expire after 12 months without activity on the account.
- Lumens have no cash value and cannot be moved between accounts.
- If your balance looks wrong, write to us. Restoring Lumens by hand is done by our rewards team.
Lumens questions
Is Lumens the same as the Lucerna Vault?
No. Lumens is free: you earn on your orders, with no charge. The Vault is a paid annual membership, $49 a year, for early access to launches, free standard shipping and member pricing on sets. You can have either or both.
Can I use a reward code with another code?
No. It is one code per order, so a reward code cannot go on top of a creator code, a referral code or a welcome code. A gift card is payment, not a code, so it works alongside.
When do my Lumens appear?
When the order ships. A pre-order earns when the pre-order ships.
I have 480 Lumens. How close am I?
Twenty away from your first reward. Any signed-in order adds 5 per dollar, so a single $14 eyeshadow earns 70 and takes you past 500.
What is the birthday gift?
A small gift added to an order placed in your birthday month. Add your birthday to your account to receive it.
